From classroom expertise to bespoke experiences

I’m Riya Wilson — a teacher with 20 years’ experience, much of it spent in London’s leading, academically selective independent schools. Over the years, I’ve built a reputation as a trusted, passionate educator who champions academic excellence and personal growth.

In 2023, I took my teaching beyond the classroom, working directly with private families. This opened the door to truly bespoke educational experiences — teacher-led adventures that ignite curiosity, deepen understanding, and build inner confidence.

A fast-changing world

We’re living in a fast-changing world, shaped by technology, AI, and constant information. While these advances create incredible opportunities, they also make certain human skills more valuable than ever — the ability to think critically, communicate clearly, solve problems creatively, and connect meaningfully with others. My work is designed to help children develop those skills in engaging, memorable ways, so they can grow into adaptable, confident individuals who stand out for all the right reasons.

What sets my work apart is connection. I take the time to truly know each child — their passions, quirks, strengths, and the challenges they face — so that every learning journey feels personal, empowering, and deeply relevant. Parents often tell me they value my warm, intuitive approach, and my ability to create environments where children feel both safe and inspired to push their boundaries.

At Quest & Compass, I combine my teaching expertise with immersive, teacher-led experiences across London. We explore galleries, museums, historic landmarks, and hidden corners of the city — but we do so with purpose. Every activity is designed to spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and nurture skills that will serve children for life.

And while every experience is thoughtfully planned, each is also filled with spontaneity, play, and laughter — because some of the most profound learning happens when a child is having fun.
